There are 80 balls in the keno machine, numbered 1 through 80. The keno ticket has 80 boxes, also numbered 1 through 80. To play you can pick from 1 up to 20 numbers, mark your choices on the keno ticket by making an "X" in the boxes with the crayon.

Different casinos play different keno games, with different wagers and different payoffs. Wherever you find keno tickets there will also be keno brochures.

If you are having lunch and you want to keep playing, but you don't want to keep filling out the keno tickets, you can elect to play the same ticket several times. You might want to play the same game as above, with the same numbers, for five consecutive games. This is how you would fill out the form:

Just give the keno runner the ticket and $5.00 then you can just watch the board so see how much you win while you are enjoying your Monte Cristo sandwich.

If your numbers don't come up during lunch, but you are sure they are going to come up soon, you don't need to cancel your plans for the afternoon and camp out in the keno lounge. When you play more than 10 games (20 games at some casinos) on a single ticket, most casinos allow you to leave the casino and have up to a year to collect on winners. If you decide to play the same game again, with the same 10 numbers, but now you want to play it for the next 50 games, you would fill out the bottom of the ticket just like before. Here's how you fill in the boxes at the top.

Once you turn in your ticket you can go to the spa and enjoy your massage before you spend the evening wining, dining, and dancing. Then whenever you think of it, go back to the keno lounge (yes, it has to be at the same casino where you played the ticket) and they will check your ticket to see how much you won over those 50 games.

Keno Basics - Specials and Way Tickets

Casinos offer keno specials. It might be a special rate or a special payout on a certain game. There are also ways to play several games at once on a single keno ticket. This is called a "way ticket" and in this example you would be playing 12 different games at one time. Keno How-To
